Lil Uzi Vert’s “Wassup” video revels in deepfake technology

The Future-assisted cut landed on the deluxe edition of ‘Eternal Atake.’

Lil Uzi Vert has upped the ante for lyric videos: His new ‘star-studded’ clip for “Wassup” featuring Future uses deepfake technology to great and hilarious effect.

The visual is the latest to emerge from the feature-heavy deluxe edition of Eternal Atake. Directed by Yasha Gruben, the clip superimposes Uzi’s face over the famous visages of George Washington, Mona Lisa, Frida Kahlo and more. Elsewhere, Nicki Minaj, Donald Trump, Barack Obama, Rihanna, Elon Musk and others ‘sing’ along to the chorus over a Zoom call.

Future, on the other hand, appears as an astronaut and John F. Kennedy in a National Geographic documentary. “Everybody know I come from outer space / I got rack on me, you do not wanna race / I got enemies so n***as gonna hate / Keep that semi on me, get you out my way,” he spits.

The deluxe version of Eternal Atake arrived a mere week after the release of the highly anticipated album in March. Last month, Uzi dropped the loosie “Sasuke.”
