Lil Uzi Vert might still be in his self-imposed retirement, but the rapper is thinking about dropping his sophomore album, Eternal Atake, on SoundCloud for free.
The Philly rapper took to Instagram Live last night while on his way to Meek Mill’s New York concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom. During the livestream, he expressed his wish to release his album for free while refraining from saying the record’s title, referring to it as “the E-word.”
“Everybody else, they care about money, that’s why they making me do all this stupid stuff. I don’t care about no money,” he said. “I wish I could just give it to y’all for free on SoundCloud. I got all the songs. I could just drop everything on SoundCloud, huh?”
Uzi also teased fans with a snippet of an unreleased song, which he said was “old as ish,” dancing along to the track as it played in the background.

Uzi also dropped a few bombshells about his retirement. Early on in the livestream, the rapper revealed that while he “[wishes he] still made music a little bit,” he was actually “forced to quit.”
Although Uzi claims he’s still retired and “don’t [do] music no more,” he did join Meek up onstage to perform “XO Tour Llif3.” With this, the potential release of Eternal Atake and Uzi’s admission that he misses making music, perhaps his self-imposed retirement might not last. Here’s hoping.

Lil Uzi Vert’s Eternal Atake is one of our most anticipated albums of 2019, so here’s hoping it sees the light of day.
