Stop the presses: Lil Uzi Vert’s much-delayed sophomore LP, Eternal Atake, is finally seeing the light of day. Yesterday, the rapper shared a short film titled BabyPluto, which signals the arrival of his new album.
The two-minute clip, co-directed by Lil Uzi and Gibson Hazard, opens in outer space where a giant golden key floats through the milky way. It then cuts to Earth, where the rapper works as an insurance agent at a company called Higher Source. His day starts off normal until he begins receiving mysterious messages with coordinates to an empty field in the countryside. Things get even weirder there, when Uzi encounters a cult and is later abducted by a UFO.
While the short film still doesn’t confirm when Eternal Atake will officially land, the rapper announced last week that the album would drop within this month. He also shared a new song, “That Way,” which interpolates the Backstreet Boys’ hit single, “I Want it That Way.”
Lil Uzi kicked off 2020 strong with a video for the dance-centric single, “Futsal Shuffle 2020,” which is also expected to appear on Eternal Atake.
It won’t be long ’til the album arrives, so in the meantime check out the short film BabyPluto here:
