Say it ain’t so, but this might be the last we hear from Lil Uzi Vert. The rapper took to Instagram on Friday night to tell fans that he’s quitting music because he just wants to be normal again.
“I wanna take the time out to say I thank each and every one of my [supporters], but I’m done with music,” he wrote on the now-expired Instagram story. “I deleted everything. I wanna be normal… I wanna wake up in 2013.”

It’s unclear what Lil Uzi meant by having “deleted everything,” with fans speculating that he deleted his upcoming sophomore album, Eternal Atake. However, the rapper also deleted a majority of his Instagram posts, leaving only a handful of selfies, so fingers crossed that said deletion is just a reference to that.
Atlantic Records, Uzi’s label, has yet to respond to the statements. However, the rapper previously hinted that he wanted out of his contract in the song “Shells,” in collaboration with Shabazz PBG. He also released “New Patek,” the lead single for Eternal Atake, prior to that.

Lil Uzi Vert’s Eternal Atake is one of our most anticipated albums of 2019, so here’s hoping it sees the light of day.
