Lil Pump? That’s “Lil Pimp” to you. The “Gucci Gang” rapper has changed his Instagram name after President Donald Trump mistakenly called him the wrong name.
Pump, whose real name is Gazzy Garcia, made a special appearance at Trump’s final presidential campaign rally on Monday night to show his support for the Republican candidate and incumbent president. However, while introducing the rapper to the crowd, Trump accidentally referred to him as “Lil Pimp.”
“Speaking of sound, music and other things, one of the big superstars of the world, Little Pimp,” Trump said during the rally before correcting himself. “There he is. How’s it going? You want to come up and say something? Come on, Little Pump, come on up here.” Check out a clip of it below.
The gaffe clearly didn’t embarrass the Florida rapper, who’s now changed his Instagram handle to “Lil Pimp MAGA 202020.”
At the rally, Pump thanked Trump for “everything you have done for our country.” “You brought the troops home and are doing the right thing,” the rapper said. “MAGA 2020 don’t forget that!”
Pump sparked derision and mockery when he announced his support for Trump’s reelection last week, following surprising hip-hop Trump endorsements from Lil Wayne, Kodak Black and others. Pump also doubled-down on his stance by sharing several MAGA hat selfies and photos with the president on social media.
Earlier, Pump threatened to leave the US if Trump wasn’t reelected. “Yo, no cap… If Trump does not get elected, I’m moving the fuck out of here n***a,” the rapper said on Instagram story. “I’m going to Colombia, fuck it.” See an archived version of the clip below.
