Lil Jon, Usher, Ludacris reunite for “Sex Beat”

The trio have joined forces again for the first time since 2004.

Lil Jon, Usher and Ludacris—aka the trio behind the 2004 hits “Yeah!” and “Lovers and Friends”—have reunited for the brand-new song, “Sex Beat.”

The musicians co-wrote the song with hitmaker Jermaine Dupri. It opens with a raunchy verse from Luda, featuring ad libs from Lil Jon: “Do the math and I’ll do the work (Yeah) / Break it fast and I’ll break the curse (Yeah) / Make it last and I’ll make you first / And if you make it splash, then I’ll make you squirt (Okay).”

Meanwhile, Usher handles the song’s infectious chorus. “Sex beat, oh / Sex beat, yeah / When I get in that room and the bass go boom / Something about the way it make me move, move,” he sings.

“Usher, Jon and Luda had to do it again. You know? It’s time,” Usher told Beats 1’s Zane Lowe. “We, by the way, have been sitting on this song for about two years. So as great as that one song is, please know that two years ago this record was done.”

Earlier this year, Usher and Ella Mai released a video for their 2019 collab, “Don’t Waste My Time.” On the other hand, Lil Jon previously paid homage to the late Mac Dre with “Ain’t No Tellin’.”
