Lil Durk honors King Von in the video for “Backdoor”

Lil Durk has released a video for “Backdoor” in honor of the late King Von.

On the song, which is Durk’s first solo release in over a month, the rapper tells a cautionary tale about street violence, inspired by Von’s passing. “I’m from the part of the city, watch your partner / You ain’t did shit to same n***a who shot ya / ’Fore you hit that door, gotta pick your Glock up,” he spits on the track. “You had me at my lowest, I’m ridin’ ’round with choppers.”

Durk also pays tribute to Von in the accompanying visual, directed by Jerry Production. The Chicago rapper wears the late artist’s O Block chain in the clip, and also tagged the visual with #DoItForVon on Instagram, alongside the caption: “I love y’all like family.”

Earlier this year, Durk shared his Just Cause Y’all Waited 2 mixtape and joined Drake on the summer hit, “Laugh Now Cry Later.” Earlier this month, Von’s family and team shared a posthumous video for “Wayne’s Story,” from Welcome to O’Block, the album Von released just a week before his untimely passing.
