Kota the Friend drops his debut album, ‘FOTO’

    Get a glimpse into the Brooklyn rapper’s life and upbringing.

    With a string of singles and three EPs under his belt, Kota the Friend has finally dropped his anticipated debut album, FOTO.

    Over jazzy, soulful instrumentals, the Brooklyn artist raps about getting through some bad times and emerging successful.

    “I wanna show people there’s a light at the end of the tunnel,” Kota told DJBooth. “On top of that, I want to hold the light. I’ve been through a lot, we’ve been through a lot, but it’s always gonna be okay. I’m trying to give people, kind of, a map to get out of depression.”

    The 19-track album features Hello Oshay, Saba, Lizzy Ashliegh, Isa Reyes and Richard Parker. Stream it below:
