Kodak Black—real name Bill Kapri—has pleaded guilty to a weapons charge stemming from an arrest in April 2019.
The rapper was arrested last year, along with three other men, when he attempted to enter the US through Canada. State police said Kodak and his cohorts were found with “four handguns [and] a loaded magazine cartridge” without a permit, according to WKBW. They were also in possession of “ a personal use amount” of marijuana.
Kodak faces two to seven years in prison for this charge, which will be served concurrently with a 46-month-long sentence from a separate federal weapons charge. For that case, the rapper was sentenced for lying about his criminal history while purchasing firearms in Florida.
Kodak will return to court on March 24 to face sentencing.
His last album, Dying to Live arrived in 2018 and debuted atop the Billboard 200 albums chart upon release. Last year, the rapper also dropped the loosie “Pimpin Ain’t Eazy.”
