Kodak Black picks a fight with Lil Wayne

There’s beef a-brewin’.

Just two years ago, Kodak Black and Lil Wayne were collaborators on the former’s Project Baby 2 cut “Codeine Dreaming.” Now, it appears that relationship has soured.

At a recent appearance at the club LIV in Miami, Kodak cut “Codeine Dreaming” short and said he had some things about his former collaborator to get off his chest. “Where Lil Wayne at?” he asked, smiling. “Maggot, you should have died when you was a baby,” Kodak continued.

This prompted people in Weezy’s corner to speak out in response. Wayne’s daughter, Reginae, took to Instagram to say, “You new lil rappers need to start giving props and respect to the GOAT.” She specifically addressed Kodak, saying, “You pick the night he didn’t go to LIV to say that. You bold.”

Other members of Weezy’s crew have spoken out on Instagram as well, like Andre Colbert of Young Money Records:

It’s still unclear what sparked Kodak’s comments, or whether he will continue to trash-talk his former collaborator. For now, it seems he’s landed himself in a sparring match with Weezy’s family and friends. Wayne himself has yet to comment.
