Kid Cudi teases the ‘Asterisk Collective’

“This is not the world we want,” the rapper declares in a video.

Kid Cudi’s got something brewing, and it looks like it’s gonna be big.

Over the weekend, the rapper shared a cryptic video on Twitter, captioned “CHANGE IS COMING” and hashtagged “Asterisk Collective.” In the clip, Cudi can be heard delivering a sermon—or the mission statement of the so-called Asterisk Collective—on change and creativity. It’s pretty life-affirming stuff.

“This is not the world we want,” he begins. “We’re rewriting the script because these rules don’t apply. We’ll be showing up with real people, in real places, in real ways to inspire positive change. Bravery, courage and action, uniting to showcase the power of creativity. Let’s create a better future together. We are the exception to the rule. We are the Asterisk Collective.”

Although Cudi’s last project, Kids See Ghosts, arrived in June, we’re hoping this is a sign of more music to come. After all, the GOOD Music signee tweeted in October that he’s “just started the new album.” “Taking my time w it tho but im thinkin next year sometime?”
