Kid Cudi has finally made his return with a gritty new song titled “Leader of the Delinquents.”
The song marks Cudder’s first solo single since his 2016 album, Passion, Plain & Demon Slayin’, which was later followed by his 2018 joint project with Kanye West, Kids See Ghosts. Produced by Dot da Genius and Arkateqq, “Leader of the Delinquents” features the Cleveland rapper spitting harsh bars over a hazy beat, discussing his ambition and struggles with mental health.
“Fame and loneliness, the recipe for disaster / I can’t handle this shit, I’mma get plastered / I just wanna go fast, I’m a bastard / I won’t stop ’til I’m where I wanna be in line / And there’s so many things to do in the in-between time / That’s to say I don’t get lost and lose my fuckin’ mind,” he raps.
“Leader of the Delinquents” is expected to appear on Cudi’s highly teased seventh studio album, Entergalactic. The record, which will accompany an animated Netflix show of the same name, is due out later this year.
