Shortly after releasing the new song “Leader of the Delinquents,” Kid Cudi has shared another sneak peek of his upcoming studio album, Entergalactic.
Late last week, Cudi hopped on an Instagram Live session with actress Rashida Jones where he shared a snippet of an unreleased song titled “Do What I Want.” The track is set to appear on Entergalactic, the rapper’s first solo album since 2016’s Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’.
Over a hazy, trap-inspired production, Cudder spits boastful bars: “While I cough off this blunt, I sit back in the cut / All my n***as ridin’ with me, more excuses, just done / And we pour up the cup, and we roll up the Woods / Loud, playin’ at the club, kinda rough, lookin’ good.” Check out the snippet below:
Entergalactic is expected to drop alongside an animated Netflix show of the same name. Cudi shared more details about both projects in a separate Instagram Live session with Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, who serves as the executive producer on the series.
During their conversation, Barris revealed that the album and show will only arrive “next summer.” “The first time ever an album and a series will be dropped at the same time. Every episode will relate to a track on the album,” the Emmy-winning producer said. “It’s brand-new Cudi music that no one’s ever heard that is the combination of new Cudi, old Cudi and a Cudi that I don’t even know where it came from.”
