Kid Cudi has revealed that Kanye West is eager to start work on the follow-up to Kids See Ghosts, the joint album the rappers released last year.
In a recent cover story for Complex, Cudi confirmed that “there will be more Kids See Ghosts albums.” West “wants to start working on the second one,” he said.
“It’s kinda weird, ’cause with the first album, I didn’t know how serious he was about making a collab album with me,” Cudi confessed. “He had mentioned it, but I thought it was just a good idea he had in the moment. But then he kept bringing it up and kept having me come to his house, listen to music, and work on beats, so I was like, ‘Wow, he’s really into this.’”
“We had a discussion where he said he wanted to make a spiritual album and I told him, ‘Great. That’s what I do. I would love to do that, something I can sink my teeth into,’” Cudder added. “So there will definitely be more.”
Before the sequel to Kids See Ghosts, though, there will likely be a new Kanye West album. In August, Kim Kardashian tweeted the supposed tracklist of Ye’s upcoming gospel-themed album Jesus is King, with a release date marked September 27.
Cudder is also readying a solo album of his own. Earlier in July, he announced his new album Entergalactic, which will soundtrack an animated Netflix series that he’s set to write, executive produce and star in. The show, also titled Entergalactic, is made in collaboration with Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, and will arrive next year.
