Kevin Gates freestyles over Fivio Foreign’s “Wetty”

He pays tribute to the late Kobe Bryant in the accompanying video.

Kevin Gates has returned with a brand-new freestyle over Fivio Foreign’s “Wetty.”

On the freestyle, the rapper drops references to Chris Brown and the late Michael Jackson, and addresses Young Chop, the producer who is currently in a feud with 21 Savage. “I cut off my finger to save my hand and this is how I got established / I cut off a knee them made ’em dance, Chris Brown, Michael Jackson / My heart goes out to Young Chop, in the industry they gon’ blackball him,” Gates spits.

In the accompanying visual treatment, the Louisiana artist dons a Los Angeles Lakers outfit in honor of the late basketball player Kobe Bryant. Later in the clip, Gates pays tribute to Bryant by visiting a mural in honor of the athlete.

Last month, Gates released the official version of “Always Be Gangsta Freestyle,” which he first rapped on DJ Charlie Sloth’s Fire in the Booth. His sophomore album, I’m Him, arrived last year.
