Kentucky governor calls Lil Wayne a “tired has-been”

Fans weren’t having it.

Yesterday, Imagine Dragons performed their 2017 hit “Believer” during the halftime show of this year’s college football championship in Santa Clara, California—and they brought out Lil Wayne to rap a guest verse.

Viewers had plenty to say about the performance on social media, but one particular comment from Kentucky governor Matt Bevin stood out.

Replies and roasts from fans came fast and furious, from quips about Bevin’s failed attempt at relevancy to more serious threats of voting him out of office.

Clearly, the governor hasn’t been keeping track of Weezy’s comings and goings, because if he had, he’d know that after the long-awaited release of Tha Carter V last year, the only way Wayne can go is up.
