Kash Doll tells a dancer’s story in “Hustla” mini-movie

A tense and thought-provoking visual.

Kash Doll has dropped a video for “Hustla,” based on a story from her days as a dancer in strip clubs.

The Detroit rapper stars as a dancer named Kelly, who gets into an escalating situation that begins with an ill-advised relationship and ends with two men dead. The mini-movie, directed by Nimi Hendrix, is the start of what Kash Doll calls the Kelly Chronicles. It ends with “To Be Continued…” so it’s likely we’ll be seeing the rest of the story in future.

“I’m not glorifying that life,” Kash Doll told Billboard in an interview about the new visual. “I’m talking about the things that girls had to do, that I’ve seen. And I’ve never seen [those girls] again because of the things that they’ve done. The things that they got paid to do.”
