Kanye West unveils gloomy “Closed on Sunday” video

Featuring the whole Kardashian clan.

“Closed on Sunday,” a standout on Kanye West’s latest Christian rap album Jesus is King, has received the music video treatment.

Like his previous JIK visual “Follow God,” the clip for “Closed on Sunday” is also centered around his family, although slightly bleak. It opens on the West family, which includes his wife Kim Kardashian and their four children, as they huddle together in the cold on a cliffside. Slowly, the rest of the Kardashian clan—Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian and even West’s own father—join Ye and his family on the steep terrain.

Elsewhere in the video, West perches himself on a rock while his Sunday Service choir surrounds him to perform the closing verse. “Try me and you will see that I ain’t playin’ / Now, back up off my family, move your hands / I got my weapons in the spirit’s land / I, Jezebel don’t even stand a chance,” they sing. Stay tuned ’til the end for a surprising yet adorable appearance by West’s daughter, North.

Last week, Ye debuted his Nebuchadnezzar: A Kanye West Opera starring Sheck Wes. The event was held at the Los Angeles Hollywood Bowl and live-streamed on TIDAL.
