Kanye West has announced his forthcoming studio album, God’s Country, with a snippet of a brand-new song called “Wash Us in the Blood.”
On Monday, West confirmed on Twitter that his new album was on the way. He also posted a ten-second instrumental preview of “Wash Us in the Blood,” which is the first taste of his upcoming record. “Still #WESTDAYEVER,” Ye wrote.
According to the snippet, the song is expected to drop in full very soon alongside a video produced by West’s frequent collaborator Arthur Jafa. Check out the preview below.

Jafa had initially teased God’s Country in May. During an Instagram Live session with French fashion icon Michèle Lamy, Jafa revealed that God’s Country will be the follow-up to Ye’s 2019 Christian rap album, Jesus is King.
Although details about the record were scarce, Jafa noted that God’s Country will not be an extension of West’s Sunday Service experience. “I don’t know if I’m supposed to not be announcing it or whatever. I may just be spilling the beans,” Jafa told Lamy.
“Wash Us in the Blood” will be West’s first new release since last October’s Jesus is King, which was followed by a special Christmas album titled Jesus is Born. The rapper also staged two opera productions at the end of 2019: Nebuchadnezzar and Mary. Both shows featured music by the rapper’s Sunday Service choir and were directed by Vanessa Beecroft.
Stay tuned for more details on God’s Country.
