Before the release of his highly anticipated album Jesus is King, Kanye West gave an interview to Beats 1’s Zane Lowe, where he revealed that he’s readying another new record for release in December.
In the two-hour conversation that included topics such as mental health, politics and religion, West declared that he will release another “Sunday Service album,” Jesus is Born, at Christmas.
West recently made headlines as he had reportedly considered quitting rap because it was “the devil’s music,” but was persuaded by his pastor to use his talents “for God.” West talked about his renewed religiosity with Lowe: “Now that I’m in service to Christ, my job is to spread the gospel, to let people know what Jesus has done for me.”
“I’ve spread a lot of things,” he added. “There was a time I was letting you know what high fashion had done for me, I was letting you know what the Hennessy had done for me, but now I’m letting you know what Jesus has done for me, and in that I’m no longer a slave, I’m a son now, a son of God. I’m free.”
West also discussed his support of US President Donald Trump, his supposed bid for the US Presidency in 2024, and more. Watch his full interview with Zane Lowe below:
