Kanye West keeps Christmas promise, releases ‘Jesus is Born’

The follow-up to ‘Jesus is King’ has arrived.

It’s a Christmas miracle: Kanye West has kept his word and delivered the new album Jesus is Born.

The 19-track gospel album is credited to West’s Sunday Service Choir. It comes two months after the release of his ninth studio album, Jesus is King, which arrived in October after several delays.

West had revealed his plans to drop Jesus is Born on Christmas in an October interview with Beats 1’s Zane Lowe. The month after that, he announced that he was working on Jesus is King Part II with Dr Dre. There is no word on when that record will be released.

So far, West has released two Jesus is King music videos, one for “Follow God” and the other for “Closed on Sunday.” He’s also fleshed out his current creative vision with an IMAX documentary, also titled Jesus is King, and not one but two operas named for Biblical figures: Nebuchadnezzar and Mary.
