Kanye West announces yet another opera, ‘Mary’

It will make its debut in Miami this weekend.

Kanye West has revealed his second opera, Mary. It will premiere on December 8 at the Miami Marine Stadium.

West announced the event on Twitter alongside the Bible verse Luke 1:30-31. “And the angel said unto her, ‘Fear not, Mary: For though hast found favor with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in they womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus,’” it reads.

Mary is part of Miami’s Art Basel line-up. The performance will be directed by Vanessa Beecroft, who also helmed Nebuchadnezzar: A Kanye West Opera last month. Mary will also feature music from the rapper’s Sunday Service choir. Tickets to the show are currently available here, with options for either beach or elevated seating.

West previously revealed that he wants to release another album—the follow-up to Jesus is King—before the year is out. Titled Jesus is Born, the record is expected to arrive by Christmas, but its release has not been confirmed.
