Kanye discusses mental health, Trump with David Letterman

The second season of Letterman’s ‘My Guest Needs No Introduction’ is out Friday.

David Letterman’s Netflix talk show, My Guest Needs No Introduction, will return for its second season this Friday, and it includes an episode with Kanye West.

During the in-depth interview with Letterman, West discussed a bevy of topics, from his children and music to fashion and his mom’s passing, The Daily Beast noted. The rapper also touched on heavier issues such as his struggle with mental health, referencing his viral on-air meltdown at the TMZ office. “When you’re bipolar, you have the potential to ramp up and it can take you to a point where you start acting erratic, as TMZ would put it,” West told Letterman.

Elsewhere, Ye discussed his support for President Donald Trump and revealed that being a MAGA fan has made him a victim of bullying. “Have you ever been [beaten] up in your high school for wearing the wrong hat? The idea is the bullying,” he said. “Well, definitely liberals bully people who are Trump supporters. It’s not just calm. You can’t just go and wear the hat. It’s like, ‘Fuck you! Fuck you!’ It’s like bro, I have. In America, we have rights and we have rights to open the conversation.”

Other highlights from the interview include Ye’s beef with Drake (who the rapper dubbed as “an artist which I will not mention”), his future plans for his Sunday Service concerts and his thoughts on the #MeToo era.

Aside from West, the second season of My Guest Needs No Introduction will also include episodes with Ellen Degeneres, Tiffany Haddish, Lewis Hamilton and Melinda Gates. You can watch all five episodes when it’s available for streaming on May 31.
