Kamaiyah caps off 2020 with a new project, ‘No Explanations’

With appearances from Mozzy and Jackboy.

Kamaiyah has dropped her third project of the year, No Explanations.

The new 11-track release features a new sound from the Oakland rapper, who says she gave it a more “Southern” feel, according to Complex. “It’s definitely not a typical Kamaiyah project, but it’s still good music.”

“My previous two projects this year I would say had a heavy West Coast influence,” she added. “The up-tempo feel-good, club music, the baselines, the production, etc. But I’m such a versatile artist, so I really wanted to showcase my ability to do my thing on any type of beat.”

No Explanations features a new collaboration with Mozzy, alongside the previously released “Still I Rise” with Jackboy. The project follows Oakland Knights, a joint mixtape with Capolow, and Got it Made, which she released in February after going independent.
