Joyner Lucas and Ashanti have released a dramatic video for their new collaboration, “Fall Slowly.”
The duo portray passionate but toxic lovers in the video, co-directed by Lucas and Ben Proulx. The clip chronicles the ups and lows of their relationship, from the fights, cheating and an unexpected pregnancy to romantic strolls along the beach and intimate moments alone.
“If you weren’t with me I couldn’t picture you with someone else / And every time we separate it’s like we under spells / ’Cause when we hurt each other we come back to help each other heal / You say I’m crazy, but at least you know my love is real,” Joyner spits, while Ashanti provides backing vocals.
“Fall Slowly” is the first taste of Joyner’s upcoming EP, Evolution, the follow-up to his ADHD album, which was released earlier this year. The six-song project, which is due out September 18, will also feature collabs with The Game and Rick Ross.
