Joji joins SahBabii for “Gates to the Sun”

The duo’s first-ever collaboration.

SahBabii and Joji have joined forces on a dreamy new single called “Gates to the Sun.”

Over airy production from STINT and Spencer Stewart, SahBabii and Joji sing about mending their romantic relationships. “I just want you to hold the brakes / Girl, I been runnin’ ’round your loving for so long / Do you not me love you now, are you waiting for someone? / Pick up the phone, girl, and everything’s alright,” Joji sings on the chorus

“The song came out beautifully, and it was really enjoyable to make,” Joji said in a press release. “I happened to be listening to a lot of SahBabii’s stuff anyway, so when I was hit up I was very excited to work and crank out something great.”

“I used reverb on it, which is kind of in my lane, but I’ve never done a song with an artist like Joji before, so that was a different lane for me,” SahBabii added. “It was the perfect collab because I really like Japanese culture, so it was all good to do a song with an artist from Japan.”

The track marks the artists’ first-ever collaboration and is part of the Pollen x Spotify Singles series. SahBabii released “Tongue Demon” in July, while Joji teamed up with Diplo for “Daylight” last month and is due to release the new album Nectar on September 25.
