As you read this, J Cole, various artists on his Dreamville roster and other guests are hard at work on a brand-new compilation album, Revenge of the Dreamers III.
Three days ago, the KOD rapper posted to social media an invite that read, “Your presence and participation is requested for the recording sessions of the upcoming compilation album, Revenge of the Dreamers III.”
The bottom of the image lists a ten-day period from January 6 to 16. J Cole’s manager Ibrahim Hamad confirmed to Complex that those dates indeed indicate the duration of the album’s recording sessions.
Other artists soon began to post their own customized invites, and the result is a massive list of potential collaborators. According to XXL Mag, more than 70 rappers, singers and producers have been invited to the sessions. These include Dreamville artists Earthgang, Ari Lennox, Bas and JID; non-Dreamville musicians like Vince Staples, Smino and Ski Mask the Slump God; and producers like Kenny Beats, Tay Keith, !llmind and Hollywood JB.
There’s no word on when this monster comp will be released. But in the meantime, get hyped by streaming Revenge of the Dreamers II, which was released in 2015:
