Issa Gold has returned with his debut solo album, Tempus.

The Underachievers member, who also performs under the name Solace, handles the project’s 11 songs without any assists, while producers including Pro Era’s Chuck Strangers and Two Fresh set the tone with genre-blending instrumentals.

Tempus is a diary written by Issa ‘SOLACE’ Gold featuring production from Two Fresh, Matt Zara, Chuck Strangers, Micah Jasper, DJ Skizz and Boxing Fetish,” Gold explained in a statement.

“It is about the emotions felt while moving through the SEASONS of life, and the changes we all experience through TIME… Use it as a MIRROR,” the Brooklyn-raised rapper continued. He also dedicated the LP to “Victoria” and producer Boxing Fetish.

Last year, Gold’s 2014 project—and only solo mixtape—Conversations with a Butterfly was released on streaming services. The Underachievers, which comprises Issa Gold and AKTHESAVIOR, dropped their most recent project, Lords of Flatbush 3, in 2019. The New York rap duo released their last studio album, After the Rain, one year prior. In 2020, AKTHESAVIOR also dropped off his own solo project, Almost Home.
