In what seems to be this week’s unlikeliest partnership, Injury Reserve, JPEGMAFIA and hardcore punk band Code Orange have teamed up for “HPNGC.”

On “HPNGC,” whose title stands for “Huey P Newton Gun Club,” the rappers touch on gun use in the face of racial tensions in America. “Seen ’em boys ride past and of course they circled back / Only one n***as seen they life flash when they flashed / If they search the car we all know it’s a wrap,” rhymes Injury Reserve’s Stepa J Groggs.

Peggy comes in for a verse, spitting over ominous, metallic production co-produced by Injury Reserve and Code Orange: “I’m like a old white woman / N***as make me nervous / Bitch I’m a black Beatle / I can’t keep Insta-lurking.”

Injury Reserve released their self-titled debut album earlier this year, while Code Orange dropped their last project Forever in 2017. JPEGMAFIA’s upcoming LP All My Heroes are Cornballs will arrive next Friday via EQT.
