Iggy Azalea has responded to her former label boss TI after he called her a “blunder” in his career.
While promoting his new Netflix show Rhythm + Flow, a talent competition series which he co-hosts with Cardi B and Chance the Rapper, TI told The Root that he was “actively looking for another female rapper who can undo the blunder of Iggy Azalea.”
“That is the tarnish of my legacy as far as [being] a [music] executive is concerned,” Tip added. “To me, this is like when Michael Jordan went to play baseball.” The head honcho of Grand Hustle Records had signed Azalea back in 2012 before they parted ways in 2015.
In a since-deleted tweet, Azalea fired back at Ti: “Imagine thinking I was his biggest blunder lmaoooooooooooooo Tip. Sweetie. We have a whole list for you.”
Azalea also allegedly called TI a “misogynist” and claimed he was jealous of her in a follow-up tweet, which has also since been deleted. “The tea I could spill on what bullshit this is but at the end of the day, I think people can see it’s clear he’s salty,” she wrote, according to E! News. “He’s a huge misogynist and has never been able to have a conversation with any woman in which he doesn’t speak like a fortune cookie.”
Today, TI dropped a new song “Sabotage,” and in February released a diss track aimed at Floyd Mayweather. In July, Azalea released In My Defense, her first album in five years. The release precipitated a bizarre “beef” with Peppa Pig, where Azalea demanded a collab with the porcine star or otherwise turn the beloved children’s cartoon character into a “breakfast special.”
