Ice Cube’s “That New Funkadelic” MV is a psychedelic trip

The ‘Everythangs Corrupt’ single gets a vibrant visual.

Ice Cube’s “That New Funkadelic,” the lead single from his latest album, Everythangs Corrupt, has received a trippy music video treatment.

Directed by James Larese, the animated visual is reminiscent of the art of Pedro Bell, the genius behind some of George Clinton’s iconic psychedelic album art. The clip’s a fun and entertaining homage to the vibrant, Afro-centric ’70s funk scene, featuring Cube and his squad of beautiful dancing women in a psychedelic world filled with colorful paisley motifs. And of course, an Ice Cube video wouldn’t be complete without the rapper giving a nod to the West Coast.
