Homeboy Sandman has unveiled his latest album, Don’t Feed the Monster.
The 15-track record was entirely produced by Quelle Chris, who is also the LP’s sole guest on the song “Hello Dancer.” The album dropped alongside a video for opening track “Trauma,” which captures Homeboy as he battles insomnia and wrestles with painful childhood memories.
“Everyone talks about keeping it real. Sands keeps it fucking real,” Chris said in a press statement. “We cut songs simply because we didn’t want to carry or spread the negative spirits or energies that were attached to the songs when first created.”
Don’t Feed the Monster was released exactly one year after Dusty, Sandman’s ninth studio album. That record featured the song “Live & Breathe,” as well as collaborations with Chris and Your Old Droog.
