Homeboy Sandman, Edan release bizarro “The Gut” video

Hold your breath and dive in.

Homeboy Sandman has linked up with Edan for a new project, Humble Pi, which drops this Friday. Yesterday, they put out a video for “The Gut,” which is more than a match for the song’s disorienting psychedelia.

Even if the song doesn’t impress you much, you’re likely to come away from the video with some respect for Sandman and Edan’s lung capacities. Sandman lays down biting bars and Edan spins on seemingly waterproof decks in a living room that’s been transposed into a swimming pool. There’s also some green screen action and appropriately aquatic backdrops.

The release of Humble Pi is particularly notable, for it marks Edan’s return to music—as Stereogum points out, it will be his first project since his 2009 mixtape, Echo Party, and his first studio album since 2005’s Beauty and the Beat.
