Hear Wale’s laid-back new song, “Good Vibes (Za)”

The rapper wants to put the chaos of 2020 behind him.

Wale has decided to bring some positivity into 2021 with the release of his new single, “Good Vibes (Za).”

Over a relaxed, minimalistic beat, the Maryland rapper reflects on the chaos that was 2020 and hopes that the new year will be more positive. “I’m burning sage in the studio ’fore I let n***as in / I leave my weapon by the speakers so they hearing me clear / I mean the money be cool, I did amazing this year / I mean I’m famous but I’m drained I need some prayer for real,” he spits.

Wale didn’t release a full-length project last year, but did drop a politically charged EP called The Imperfect Storm. His last studio album, Wow… That’s Crazy, arrived in 2019. Earlier this year, he appeared on the soundtrack for Griselda Records’ film Conflicted, teaming up with Westside Gunn and Smoke DZA for “The Hurt Business.”
