Headie One teams up with Stormzy, AJ Tracey on “Ain’t it Different”

The best of British rap collide.

Headie One has enlisted the help of fellow Brits, Stormzy and AJ Tracey, for his latest single “Ain’t it Different.”

The energetic track, produced by Fred Again… and Toddla T, samples the 1999 Crazy Town hit, “Butterfly.” It kicks open with Headie One taking shots at his naysayers while at the same time thanking God for all the “litness” in his life. “Apparently all I talk is prison but I don’t know no different / ’Cah I was in jail up north, runnin’ another coalition / Fresh home, I bought coke and whipped it,” he spits.

Stormzy and AJ Tracey jump in later to deliver their own cocky verses. The former boasts his rise in the rap game, while the latter brags about his luxurious lifestyle. “Covered in diamonds, never been mining / Came through, man’s still shining / ’Cah I was in Homeford House with the pack / And now I’m in Dubai, lining,” AJ Tracey rhymes.

The collaboration dropped alongside a stylish video directed by Taz Tron Delix. In the clip, the rappers perform in a gorgeous mansion and race each other in massive vehicles. It closes out with Headie One perched on top of a gigantic sculpture of himself.

“Ain’t it Different” is set to appear on Headie One’s debut album, Edna, out sometime later this year. The new track comes after the London MC teamed up with Drake on “Only You Freestyle” in July. Prior to that, he released a joint mixtape with Fred Again… titled Gang.
