Griselda Records announces debut film, ‘Conflicted’

The soundtrack’s first song, “3:30 in Houston” by Benny the Butcher, is out now.

Griselda Records will branch into the movie business next year with the release of its debut film, Conflicted.

The forthcoming feature film will star Benny the Butcher as Hunter, a gangster from Buffalo, New York who seeks to change his ways following a stint in prison. The movie will also feature Benny’s Griselda labelmate Westside Gunn, alongside Michael Rapaport, J Holiday and Deuce King, who also wrote the screenplay.

The record label has also released “3:30 in Houston” by Benny, the lead single from the upcoming movie’s soundtrack. It’s the rapper’s first release since he was shot in the leg last month during an attempted robbery in Houston. “The bullet really ain’t damage nothin’,” he reassures fans on the track. “N***as would’ve been in my position / I bet they would’ve hit the panic button, man.”

Besides Benny, the soundtrack for Conflicted will also feature tracks from Gunn, Dave East, Lloyd Banks, Armani Caesar, Boldy James and more. Both the soundtrack and the film are due out January 15, 2021.
