Gnar, Lil Skies, Craig Xen face mortality in “Death Note” MV

It’s Gnar’s third release of the year.

Gnar has linked up with Lil Skies and Craig Xen for his latest single, “Death Note.”

Gnar gets the track going with a hard-hitting opening verse, flowing over the trap-inflected beat produced by Outtatown and TM88. “She fuck with me, she don’t fuck with you / Iced out my heart, now it’s bulletproof / I took my shot, gotta tell the truth / I’m kind of psycho, keep it real with you,” he raps.

Xen jumps on halfway through the song, with a brief but punchy verse about being prideful in a relationship, while Skies provides the catchy chorus. “I got demons in my brain / They want me to let it go / Shorty tell me I’m the same / ’Cause I’m fucking all these hoes,” Skies sings.

In the accompanying video, directed by Cole Bennett, the trio perform the song in a run-down cabin by the woods while surrounded by their posse. The clip ends abruptly with a gunshot and a funeral.

“Death Note” is Gnar’s latest release following “Kingdom Hearts Freestyle.” On the other hand, Skies dropped his debut album, Shelby, earlier this year.
