Future drops new single, “Absolutely Going Brazy”

The Atlanta rapper gets introspective on the short-but-sweet tune, the latest in what may prove to be a busy season for him.

There seems to be two Futures: the trap god of tracks like “Same Damn Time,” and the introspective hip hop superstar of “Use Me.” The Atlanta rapper’s latest single “Absolutely Going Brazy,” which dropped yesterday, fits right into the latter category.

Over two minutes of mellow trap beats, Future unleashes a torrent of the melodic mumbling that brought him fame. “I blame the streets for the way I was raised / I cannot sleep with these demons behind me,” he half-sings, even dedicating a line to how he “paid these dues with my son.”

“Absolutely Going Brazy” comes with a video that matches the mood of the song. As Future raps, “I stack it up, I don’t take a day off,” the visual cuts from him tearing up the stage at concert after concert, with plenty of posturing in private jets and supercars in-between.

The track marks a busy period for Future. He’s already dropped no fewer than three tracks this year, including the recent collab with DJ Esco and Schoolboy Q on “Code of Honor” just a few days back. But there’s no sign of a new album on the horizon—yet.
