Freddie Gibbs has released a visual for “Death Row,” from his eponymous album released in June. It features the song’s guest, 03 Greedo, who is now serving a 20-year prison sentence.
In the MV, directed by Trevor Penick, both rappers hang around a railroad, vibing out and rapping straight to the camera. It’s a simple enough concept, so instead let your eyes rove over Gibbs’ impressive ’fit: a Shawn Kemp Seattle SuperSonics jersey, a blinged-out “ESGN” chain (in reference to his debut album), and a bright red hat emblazoned with the slogan, “MAKE A N***A PRESIDENT AGAIN.”
The video begins and ends with the hashtag #FREE03GREEDO. The Californian rapper’s burgeoning career screeched to a halt this year when he was sentenced to 20 years in prison for drug possession and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, as Pitchfork reports.
