Flatbush Zombies co-founder and producer Erick the Architect has announced a new solo EP called Future Proof, and shared the somber new single “Let it Go” featuring Loyle Carner and FARR.

“‘Let it Go’ is a song that captures the internal battle of guilt and doubt you experience while pursuing a dream,” Erick said in a press statement. He also discussed the EP on Instagram, explaining that although Future Proof “is a collection of five songs, it holds great value to my story and hopefully serves as a means of coping during a hard time.”

“There were many times this year I was uninspired to make music because I felt so overwhelmed by so much,” he confessed. “A few of my friends and family have passed away this year and it was such a challenge to write about it. UNTIL ONE DAY, I woke with a different sense of purpose. ”

Due out January 22, Future Proof will be Erick’s first solo offering since 2018’s Arcstrumentals, Vol 2 and follows Flatbush Zombies’ Now, More Than Ever EP, which was released earlier this year.

Besides Carner and FARR, Erick will also join forces with Col3trane, Sophie Faith and Pip Millett on the effort. According to a press release, Erick is also currently working on joint projects with James Blake, who recently dropped off his Before EP, and Joey Bada$$.
