Fans petition to rename Los Angeles intersection after Nipsey Hussle

It was where the rapper was shot and killed.

In the wake of Nipsey Hussle’s tragic passing, fans have turned out in full force to support a petition to rename an intersection after the late rapper in his hometown of Los Angeles.

The appeal, published on Change.org, calls for Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson to support the renaming of Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue to Nipsey Hussle Boulevard. The intersection is the location of Marathon Clothing, a store Hussle founded in 2017, and the same spot where the rapper was gunned down last Sunday.

Launched by social and political activist Najee Ali, who “knew Nipsey Hussle personally,” the petition aims to honor Hussle’s legacy and the work he’s done for his neighborhood. “He wasn’t just a rapper. He was a community icon,” Ali wrote in the petition’s description.
