Famous Dex thanks fans for well wishes after suffering seizure on stage

The rapper is currently in “good spirits.”

Famous Dex is recovering well after suffering from an epileptic seizure while performing last Friday.

According to TMZ, the Chicago rapper was performing at 1 OAK in West Hollywood on November 1 when he fainted on stage. His security team reportedly carried him backstage and the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived on the scene shortly after. It was unclear whether the rapper was taken to the hospital later that night.

However, a spokesperson for Dex later issued a statement to TMZ, saying the 26-year-old rapper was in “good spirits.” “We wish Famous Dex a speedy recovery after his epileptic seizure last night. He is currently in good spirits and hopes to return back to finishing his new album. He thanks all his fans for their prayers and well wishes,” his rep said.

On November 5, Dex—whose real name is Dexter Tiewon Gore Jr—confirmed that he was on the road to recovery. “God is key,” he tweeted. “I respect all the love.” He also celebrated his 2018 debut studio album, Dex Meets Dexter, which was recently certified gold.

Last year, Dex worried fans after he passed out while on Instagram Live, though the rapper later claimed he had been working overtime and simply dozed off. In April, Complex reported that Dex was quitting lean and Xanax for good, saying he wants to “get right” and “make the world get better.”
