Eminem jokes about Ariana Grande concert bombing on new song

The rapper has already faced social media backlash from Grande fans.

Earlier today, Eminem created a buzz on the internet after he surprise-released a new album, Music to Be Murdered By. The record includes a song, “Unaccomodating,” whose reference to the 2017 bombing at Ariana Grande’s concert in Manchester has already incited backlash.

The song opens with a guest appearance from Brooklyn rapper Young MA before Em jumps on the latter half. During his verse, the rapper references the 2017 tragedy which took the lives of 23 people. “But I’m contemplating yelling ‘Bombs away’ on the game / Like I’m outside of an Ariana Grande concert waiting,” he spits.

The lyrics have received backlash from Grande fans, who took to Twitter to criticize the rapper’s bars. “That is just so fucking sick,” one fan wrote. “Y’all better not give this man any attention. People literally lost their lives, and you’re going to release music and try to make a profit off of them?”

This isn’t the first time Eminem has made a reference to the 2017 incident. As Highsnobiety reported in 2018, the rapper had first brought up the Manchester bombing during his freestyle, “Kick Off.” On it, he also took jabs at Justin Bieber and actress Reese Witherspoon.

Eminem has yet to address the backlash at the time of writing.
