Six months ago, the artists of Dreamville embarked on a marathon studio session with guests and friends to work on the compilation Revenge of the Dreamers III. Now, you can hear two songs off the record: “Down Bad” featuring JID, Bas, J Cole, Earthgang and Young Nudy, and “Got Me” featuring Ari Lennox, Omen, Ty Dolla $ign and Dreezy.

The two songs demonstrate how Dreamville has staked out prime real estate within the worlds of both rap and R&B. “Down Bad” is a relentless bar showcase, each artist trying their darndest to outdo each other over a squealing beat. Ari Lennox—whose recent debut, Shea Butter Baby, made a splash—and guest Ty Dolla $ign—who recently tapped J Cole for the single “Purple Emoji”—lead the slinky “Got Me.”

These are certainly exciting previews of Revenge of the Dreamers III, but the label is still keeping mum about a release date. While you wait for more details, hear the new posse cuts below.
