Drake releases surprise new mixtape, ‘Dark Lane Demo Tapes’

He’s also promised a new album out this summer.

Drake has unveiled a surprise new mixtape, Dark Lane Demo Tapes.

The 14-track project contains previously released singles, such as 2019’s “War,” “When to Say When,” “Chicago Freestyle” and “Toosie Slide.” It also includes new collaborations with Chris Brown, Future and Young Thug, as well as a previously leaked track with Playboi Carti.

On Instagram, Drake explained that Dark Lane Demo Tapes was put together by OVO Sound co-founder Oliver El-Khatib and sound engineer Noel Cadastre, and comprised “a lot of the songs people have been asking for (some leaks and some joints from SoundCloud and some new vibes).”

Drizzy also made an exciting announcement: “My 6th STUDIO ALBUM DROPPING SUMMER 2020!!! Lucky number 6.”

The incoming album will mark Drake’s first full-length effort since 2018’s Scorpion. The 6 God recently said that this upcoming album will likely be “a more realistic offering, something more concise” than his previous releases.
