Doja Cat strikes back with cosmic new album, ‘Planet Her’

Doja Cat is back with her highly anticipated third album, Planet Her.

Her follow-up to 2019’s Hot Pink, the record boasts a star-studded 14-track tracklist, with Young Thug, Ariana Grande, JID and SZA all appearing as guests.

Alongside the album, Doja also dropped the music video for “You Right,” her collaborative track with The Weeknd. In line with her album’s cosmic aesthetics, the video depicts both artists in a majestic palace, surrounded by ethereal clouds, galaxies and bodies of water.

Over the track’s soulful production, Doja swings between loyalty and temptation. “And you’re right / You right, I got my guy / But I can’t help it, I want you,” she sings on the chorus.

The music video is her second from Planet Her, following the visual for SZA collab “Kiss Me More.” Leading up to the record, she also released “Need to Know” as a single.

Doja recently performed at the Grammys and the Billboard Music Awards, the latter amongst a star-studded lineup including Bad Bunny and The Weeknd. The rapper has had a productive year leading up to Planet Her: in February, she teamed up with Ariana Grande and Megan Thee Stallion for a remix of “34+35.” In January, she appeared in the video for her collab with Saweetie, “Best Friend,” which later received a remix featuring Stefflon Don.
