DJ Shadow teases double-album, ‘Our Pathetic Age,’ with new single

DJ Shadow has announced his return with the forthcoming double-album, Our Pathetic Age, his first full-length release in over three years. Check out the record’s latest single, “Rosie,” below.

The propulsive track appears on the first half of the LP, which is broken into two parts: the first, a set of 11 instrumental songs and, the second, a collection of 12 vocal collabs. The latter half of Our Pathetic Age features appearances from Run the Jewels, Nas, Inspectah Deck, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Dave East and more. De La Soul also contribute to the record on the previously released track “Rocket Fuel.”

“Despite the title, Our Pathetic Age is a hopeful, vibrant album,” Shadow shared in a press statement. “As an artist, I feel an obligation to interpret the world around me, and there’s no denying that these are times fraught with angst and pain. Yet, there is always light in darkness, and that’s the energy I have sought to harness.”

Our Pathetic Age is DJ Shadow’s follow-up to 2016’s The Mountain Will Fall. The full-length will be his second release on Mass Appeal Records.
