DJ Khaled finally releases ‘Father of Asahd’

The album arrived with a video for “Higher,” featuring the late Nipsey Hussle.

It’s been a long time coming, but DJ Khaled’s latest album, Father of Asahd, is officially here.

Father of Asahd is the mogul’s 11th studio album and the first project he’s dropped since 2017’s Grateful. It’s stacked top to bottom with big-name features, including Jay-Z, Future, Lil Wayne, Cardi B and others (Chance the Rapper, Justin Bieber and Quavo appear together on the previously released “No Brainer”).

But especially notable is “Higher,” which features the late Nipsey Hussle and John Legend. The song was released with the blessing of Hussle’s family, Khaled said in a statement. “The very title of the song reminds us that vibrating on a ‘Higher’ level was the essence of Nipsey’s soul,” he wrote. All of the song’s proceeds will go to Hussle’s children.

A video for “Higher,” which Khaled shot with Legend and Hussle before the latter passed, was also released at midnight. Watch it below:
