DJ Khaled and Drake have released a video for their latest collaboration, “Popstar,” which stars special guest Justin Bieber.
The video opens with Khaled frantically bombarding Drake with FaceTime calls from a private island. Since they’re both stuck in their respective lockdown locations, the producer tells Drizzy that they need to come up with a new plan for their music video shoot. “Figure something out,” Khaled yells at the Canadian rapper, before pleading, “It’s for me, man!”
Cut to the day of the actual video shoot and we realize that neither artists actually make it on set. Instead, Biebs fills in for Drizzy, lip-syncing to his lines and partying with the rest of their crew. However, later it all turns out to be a figment of Bieber’s imagination—or is it?
In July, DJ Khaled released two songs with Drake, “Popstar” and “Greece.” Both tracks are expected to feature on Khaled Khaled, the follow-up to the producer’s 2019 LP Father of Asahd. An official release date for the new album has yet been announced.
