Dave and Stormzy have dropped a music video for their latest collaboration, “Clash.” It’s the first single from Dave’s highly anticipated solo album We’re All Alone in This Together.
“Jordan fours or Jordan ones, Rolexes, got more than one / My AP cost thirty-one, millimeters, forty-one / Stick him up with a stick-stick, he drew the shorter one / You can’t short me one, in the club with the shortest one,” Dave spits over a banging drill beat courtesy of longtime producer Kyle Evans.
In the visual, the South London rappers are decked out in expensive clothes, shoes and watches while partying with beautiful women at the Aston Martin Lagonda headquarters. They even speed around in the upcoming Aston Martin Speedster V12, a luxurious sports car that is only set for release in 2022.
“This is the most intricate and complex story from a kid who has just come off the back of all of this tension and perceived success in the general public… delving back into where he is from and where his family is from,” Dave said of the upcoming record in an interview with GQ. “There is a magic to it! I feel like my first album was a concept, but this is canon.”
On other hand, Stormzy dropped his sophomore LP, Heavy is the Head in 2019, which included singles such as “Crown,” “Sounds of the Skeng,” and “Own It.” Last year, he made his US television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and dropped a music video for “Superheroes” in tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman.
